Team India

Well there has been lot said abt team India…….they r the best team ever……..they cant play well outside home and so on…every 1 has their own view…….hear is what I think abt team India.........gonna tell abt what I feel abt each player……..and the teams chances in the world cup

1. Rahul Dravid – The wall, Mr. dependable, Mr. Consistency, what not… no matter how much u praise him it wont be enough. He is the back bone of the Indian team. Leads by xample. U can bet ur life on him. He has come a long way frm the day he made his debut. He was told that he could never play ODI’s and now he is the captain of team India. He is one of the greatest players of the game. Technically perfect batsman, gud slip catcher, and a gr8 thinker of the game. Don’t have to tell much abt him. More often than not he is gonna deliver. Regarding his captaincy well he is new at his job…..he hasn’t done anything to say that he gr8 at it or he sucks at it. V will have to wait and c what happens.

2. Sachin Tendulcar- The maestro, he along with Dravid are 2 of the best Batsmen India has ever produced. He has been her 4 a long time now. He has broken almost every record in the book. His only unfulfilled dream is to be a part of a world cup wining team. This will be his last world cup. I think he will do what ever it takes 4 India to win the world cup. I just get the feeling that this will be his world cup and he will single handedly win us the world cup. He is a warrior who us fighting his last battles so I xpect him to put every thing into the wrld cup.

3. Virender Sehwag– Well he is unpredictable. He can get u off to a flyer and he can give u the worst start possible. All v can do is hope that he fires in the wrld cup. He can also give India a useful few overs. So he adds value to the team

4. Yuvraj Singh – rite now he is in the form of his life. I hope that he lose some form in b/w so that he can peek at the wrld cup. In sports gud form will always followed by bad form. So I hope he peeks at the rite time. Without him being in form India’s chances of wining is very little. He is a stylish left handed batsman. Tines the ball really well. He is also a useful blower and a wrld class fielder. He is 1 of the best fielder India has ever produced. He has got a gud temperament. He is been seen as the future Indian captain.

5. Suresh Raina – This dude looks sold……really compact….gud defense, gud technique. Looks like a gud player in the making…. I think that the team management should send him up the order more often instead of sending Pahtan and Dhoni. He is young and could serve the country 4 a very long time….. there is something abt him that I like……..given the rite opportunities he will be the next big thing in Indian cricket.

6. Mohammad Kaif – He is just regaining his form…….dont think he is the kind of player who can smash bowlers around the park……but he is fight it out….he can play the role of the guy who stays till the end……don’t c anything special in his batting….but his fielding is gr8………probably the best fielder India has ever produced…..some times I get the feeling that he is in the team just cause of his fielding

7. Mahendra Singh Dhoni– Well the most xplosive batsman in the Indian team..he can tear an attack down within minutes. He is new to international cricket. He has proved that he is the best in the Indian subcontinent. Now he has to prove that he can do well even outside home…..if he does that I think no 1 can stop him…If he is on top form during the wrld cup…….no 1 can stop India frm winning

8. Venugopal Rao- Don’t know y they keep picking him…….haven’t seen much of him………..but he doesn’t look anything special…………just another batsman……..may be the team sees something special in him…..but if that’s the case he should be played more….any way at the present state he doesn’t have any use in the team other than carrying drinks

9. VVS Laxman – Well he is a gud test player….his main prob in ODI’s is his fielding….he has some probs with his knees so he is not that quick on his feet. Every 1 outside India think that he should be playing in the one day team…but every 1 in India thinks other wise. He is one of the few Indians who has a better record oversees than at home………don’t think he has any chance of making the wrld cup……..but I feel that if the only other batsman in the bench in Venugopal Rao then rather pick laxman cause he is a tested and proved player……..and he could be really useful

10. Irfan Pathan- He is supposed to be the strike bowler of India. He has lost a lot of pace since his debut…I don’t think that he should be the strike blower……..he is the all rounder in the team……..his job is take a few wickets and get a few runs……….don’t xpect him to run through batting orders………if the ball swings he is lethal………other wise just ordinary…………I think that he is doing his job well…………..v have to come up with another strike bowler……….he is should not be the leader of our bowling attack………let him be an all-rounder………and v should find a quick bowler……..may be develop some1 in the team.

11. Harbajan Singh – The turbunater…………well he is a gud spin bowler……….he can mesmerize batsmen with his gale and spin……..he has every thing an off spinner needs. After Murali I think he is the next best off spine bowler….he would be effective only if the pace bowlers give at least 1 early break through…I still don’t think that he is as gud as Kumble……but he will do a gud job in the wrld cup

12. Anil Kumble – My fav bowler…….don’t think any Indian bowler can match up to him……….his records speaks 4 itself. His work ethic, determination and passion should be a role model 4 the youngsters. He is 1 player whom u know will give 200% while he is on the field…….doesn’t matter if its batting bowling or fielding….he is an xample of the others….I rem 1 incident in West Indies. While he was batting he got hit by a bouncer in his jaws……….he broke his jaws………and he was in terrible pain……the same day just before the end of play he came on the field after taking a few shots and bowled an over and took the wicket of Lara………That shows the greatness of the man…….he selflessness. Unlike other Senior cricketers, he wont take it personally if he is dropped…….instead of just sitting out he would rather go an give drinks to his team mates…..He does a lot of things 4 the game…….over al I think he is the on of the bets CRICKETERS India has ever produced and I feel that he should be the part of the 2007 wrld cup……….dont tell me that people think that Ramesh Powar is better than him…….in bowling or fielding………….I really hope that he is included in the 2007 wrld cup team as its his last chance……..but I really don’t think that it will happen. Even if he doest get a chance in the wrld cup…..I think when he retires he should be given a hero’s send off

13. Sreeshant – He looks like a gud bowler……..he bowls at he gud pace and he can add on some more pace with time………he has the making of a strike bowler that India has been looking 4. He is a wicket taking bowler……in that process he gives away runs…….. The team management should work with him and help him improve. I get the feeling he is gonna do well.

14. Munaf patel – He is supposed to be the fastest bowler in our team. I didn’t see anything to show me that he is the fastest in West Indies. He and Sreeshant were bowling more or less at the same pace………well he has been injured in the past…..and I get the feeling that he goon get injured very soon…..he doesn’t look strong………he is a tall thin fast bowler…..don’t think that he has the stamina to bowl fast without injuring him self……..I think he has reduced pace cause of his injury. I hope that he goes to the gym and get some strength or else he not gonna last very long. He should increase his pace and do something abt his physique. He is a gud bowler but he doest swing the ball that much……so pace and line and length is crutial……so he has to improve a lot……any way he also looks really gud in test matches..not sure abt ODI’s

15. Ajith Agarkar – He is a wicket taker…….unfortunately along with wickets he also gives away a lot of runs………he is really inconsistent……..he is the one Indian bowler who can blow 6 different deliveries in an over…….he has pace and he also swings the ball……if he gets his act rite……he could be our strike blower…….all of us have to hope that he becomes more consistent. If he improves he will be a very useful asset to the team

16. Ramesh Powar – Well don’t know how the team management thinks that he is better than Anil Kumble or he is a prospect 4 the future……….his bowling is not anything special and his batting is nothing to mention abt……….and his fielding sucks…….so don’t know y he is in the team ahead of Kubmle……. don’t c him doing anything to talk abt

17. R P Singh and V R V Singh – well both these bowlers don’t find a place in the team. R P Singh bowled ok…………don’t c anything special and V R V Sing I have seen him play in a match and in that he gave away too many runs……both don’t look special…….but I hear that V R V Singh can bowl quick……….any way both of them have to improve to get a place in the team……….just saw him bowl in West Indies, looks like he has a gud bouncer and a length ball…….so hope he too improves with time

18. Zaher Khan, Aisesh Nehera, Balaji – well I always thought that Zaher will be the spear head of the Indian bowling attack…..but he gets injured quite often………I think he is fit now….not sure…….the team management should not give up on him ……….he is a gud bowler…….Nehera also get injured often…………the prob with his is that when u luk at him u feel that he don’t wanna play……as far as Balaji is concerned I never thought he should have been in the team on the 1^st place

19. Denesh Mongia – the thinking behind not selecting him is that he has been given a chance and the rest should be given a chance now……during the time when Ganguly was captain most left handers did get chance to play in the team…..so I think it might be worth while giving him 1 final chance………more over he is doing really well in English county cricket.

20. Wasim Jaffer, Robin Uttapa, Gautham Gambeir – These 3 dudes r fighting 4 the openers slot in the test team……..and all haven’t done that bad in the games they have be given in the ODI’s its just that there is no vacant place in the team 4 batsmen…….they will be fighting 4 a place in the test team…..let the best man win.......after the 100 in the test think Jaffer has booked his place 4 a while

21. Ajay Ratra, Partiv Patel, Dinesh Karthik – Unless Dhoni gets injured they r not getting into the team…..of the lot Karthick has the best chance of getting at this pt of time

22. Sourav Ganguly – gonna write a whole blog abt him

I think that the team management is xperimenting too much……like Pathan is coming up the order a bit too much 4 my liking………if he bats at no 3 or opens the batting what the hell r the other batsmen supposed to do…….I know that they r trying to make a genuine all rounder out of him…but rite now he is not…….and international cricket is not the place where u try and develop ur batting skills……..he should practice a lot in nets bat up the order in domestic cricket……..and when every 1 feels that he is really gud at it bring him up the order…….its just waste of a position if u keep bringing him up every match……its ok if u do so once in a while….like a surprise but this is too much. I also feel that it’s not healthy to chance ur batting order every game……….u can only be consistent if ur team is stable……..so have a fixed batting line up….change it if u want on special occasions……….get ur bowling attack fixed…….then only u can be considered as a strong team

As far as the team’s chances in the wrld cup goes………as of now they have no chance in hell…wont win even if hell freezes……….their batting is not solid………most batsmen r inconsistent………..apart frm Dravid and Yuvaraj no 1 is consistant…….and the bowling……………god help us……..if the bowl swings Pathan will come to the party…..other wise not looking gud………v have a wrld class spinner in the form Harbajan Singh but he wont be that effective the opposing team gets off to a flyer. He is no Murali……..The fav 4 the wrld cup will be Australia like always…other teams also have a gud chance of wining ……….the odds of India wining r very low………but lest all hope that our team improves by the time wrld cup starts and win the cup.....it will be the best gift to Sachin, Dravid and all who r gonna leave the game very soon.
